Moniek's Big Chop!

Remember my friend Moniek whose hair I was detangling last week?

WELL!

Sometime between Thursday and Friday night, she got tired of trying to style two textures! She called me Saturday morning and told me that I was cutting her hair Saturday afternoon no matter what!!!!  I happily accepted the challenge! Now, I am a novice at doing hair (unless it is my own) and cutting hair...ya'll....listen...I am horrible with cutting hair. But Moniek entrusted her hair to me and I DID THAT!!!!!!

We started by doing a co-wash with Yes to Cucumbers, yeah..she has gotten addicted to that stuff (I think she has cleaned out every Ross in Austin, because *I* can't find any now!!!! LOL She didn't wash the conditioner out, because I wanted to be able to comb through her hair to cut off the relax ends.

When I cut the first section off, I told her..."We've started...no going back now!" Whenever we get together, we act a fool and with each section of hair I cut, she goes, "You done cut my damn hair!" But I just kept cutting!!!

Once I finished, you would have thought that I had been trained at Vidal Sassoon! I felt really really good about the job that I did. I went back through and cut off the relaxed ends that I had missed, and her crazy self goes, "You killing me acting like you really know what you're doing!" LOL Her hair looks really really good and she has been playing in it since I finished cutting it! Her daughters were standing there watching me and the youngest one is so encouraging...she goes, "I like it...I really do!"

She posted to her FB that she is finally natural and for the most part, she had a lot of positive comments, some even from our high school friends that (claim) they are considering going natural..ummhmm LOL. Overall, She's excited to learn her hair (even though for some reason she looks apprehensive in this picture!!) and I am excited for her...however, I do know that we have another product junkie in the making! I started her off with some Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave In Conditioner and Healthy Hair Butter and a few accessories, but I gotta lock my ish up now!!

Congratulations Moniek!

You know I love you girl and thank you for having so much faith in me to do your hair!!!

Have a great week everyone! I will announce the giveaway winner later this week! And if any of the rest of you need a big chop done...L.Michelle (T.T.) got ya!!!
