What it Claims: From Oyin Handmade website

Rich, Penetrating, Shea-Based Moisture

This rich, dense moisturizing cream is Oyin's first product. It's a mixture of rich botanical butters & oils like shea butter, cocoa butter, and castor oil; blended with plenty of pure aloe vera gel and spring water for lightness & penetration. The result is superior, rich, penetrating moisture in an all-purpose, head-to-toe product. You may have noticed that it's listed under both hair and body products!

Whipped pudding is very lightly scented with chocolate and vanilla fragrance to enhance the scent of the whole butters and essential oils. To add your own fragrance oil, microwave for 5 seconds until stirrable, then mix in your scent of choice. Voted "Best Product for Twists and Braids" in naturallycurly.com's 2009 'best of the best' survey!

HOW TO USE:On dry, parched hair, Whipped Pudding adds moisture and pliability from scalp to ends; melting in and softening without building up, helping add weight to frizzy strands, keeping hair supple for days at a time. On damp hair - post washing, or after a light spritzing of greg juice or water - Whipped Pudding is excellent to help lock in moisture. For finer textures, it's great mixed with honey and used as a pre-shampoo deep conditioning treatment.

For the body, Whipped Pudding melts into skin, leaving a velvety softness behind. It's ultra pampering on dry elbows, knees or heels. Use to protect hands and face before braving harsh weather; apply to dry skin as a rich nighttime cream, or massage into feet before sleeping in warm cotton socks.

MHIM Assessment:
Okay, so one of my followers Raezin told me about the Oyin Handmade Whipped Pudding and I was like..yeah...okay, I will get around to trying it! LOL Well a few weeks ago on one of my "mental health days." I placed an order at NaturallyCurly.com that I posted a little about here.
In this order, I received the Oyin Handmade Whipped Pudding, but I waited for a while to use it..who knows why, probably because I have so many items already! LOL. So, I decided to bring it with me on my trip to Dallas for my Sorority's convention and test it out to see what it would do. I LOVE IT!
It is really moisturizing to my hair without making it greasy. It also helped a little with defining my curls, but not as much as the Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter. Now one thing that I found interesting about the whipped pudding is that it was really THICK and creamy, which means that you don't have to use as much when you are using it. I used it on wet hair, but it can also be used on dry hair. It also smells like chocolate (as stated in the description) for those of you that are smell-sensitive.The other thing I like about this product is that it is not expensive at all!!

Have any of you ever tried any Oyin products? If so, what did you think??

  2. *pops collar* told you girl! LOL- I love my Oyin handmade whipped pudding....I just ordered another jar & already I'm half way thru it! It's my staple product for my 2 strand twists as it provides moisture, shine & definition! You should try it on your skin after a shower. Leaves your skin soft & smooth! I've also tried their shine & define serum and unfortunately it didn't work for me, but I gave it to my mommy and she loves it. Her hair looks amazing after using it. She's natural but I often tell her she can't be a part of the club because of her grade of hair. You know the type...she can put some baby lotion on her hair and its just as soft and curly...hate her! LOL

  3. I used to use their moisturizing spray, Juices and Berries. I really liked it, because it was easy to use without disturbing my curls (you know they are temperamental). Eventually, the spray turned into a stream, which was annoying...but I'm sure there was some way I could have fixed that. I'm gonna try this whipped pudding soon...
