L. Michelle, the Creator and Primary Blogger of My Hair.....Is Me, is also known as Ms. LaTanya M. Tatum. She is better known to her friends as, "Tanya" or "T.T." and is a native Texan currently residing in the Austin metro area.
Armed with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Jackson State University, a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University--San Marcos, and a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership & Ethics from St. Edward's University, LaTanya's driving ambition to succeed is evidently clear!! However, although L. Michelle is highly educated, she is a very down to earth and fun loving person. She absolutely LOVES to laugh and to make those around her laugh as well!

By day L. Michelle is employed by the "Great State of Texas" as a Grants Manager and in her spare times she likes to read, cook, shop, and play "mommy" to her Miniature Schnauzer, Madison.
She is very active in her community and is a faithful member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She is also the Development Director for Princess in Training, a leadership organization for teenage girls.
L. Michelle loves the versatility of having natural hair and has been natural since 2007 after a fight with breast cancer that she gracefully won! L.Michelle in no way looks like what she's been through! She definitely IS a survivor!
L. Michelle is transparent with the advice that she gives to others about their natural hair, but she remains constant in telling others that what works for her may not necessarily work for them.
